What a great day it turned out to be! Thirteen members gathered in the wind at La Perouse, and we were thinking that this is unlucky for those who did not turn out! As soon as we started down the Henry Head Walking Track were sheltered from the wind and the skies started to clear. We were treated to wonderful views over Botany Bay, the heads and the ocean with a strong swell and magnificent, though threatening breakers. Once again Mark's judgement about what constituted a "pretty much level track" was brought into question as we struggled over rocks downwards then upwards, but he was forgiven at the end when the last of the Cape Banks Walking Track around NSW Golf Course was mercifully flat. Container ships left, the pilot made off one that we saw, the few birds wheeled overhead and the flowers were underwhelming, but colourful.
Back to La Perouse by bus for lunch at the Boat Shed to end an excellent outing, thanks Mark for organising such an interesting day.
