LAKE TOOLOOMA AND KINGFISHER POOL WALK - Friday 14 April
Mark’s influence with the weather gods, “it will rain at nine and be fine by ten”, was spot on for our walk today. The track was a little wet underfoot but the bush looked lovely after its shower. Unfortunately one creek was quite deep and necessitated us going into bridge-building mode. Amidst much laughter and a few wet feet, we made it across with John and Ken manning a hand rail??
Morning tea was at Lake Toolooma which has a few relics from steam train days (water pumped up to Waterfall Station); lunch at Kingfisher Pool and Falls - a very pretty spot.
After briefly becoming geographically embarrassed, we clambered back up the rock cliffs to the relief of a few who shall remain anonymous. It was agreed by all fourteen members that we would indeed sleep well that night.
Thank you Mark for our adventure.
PS It rained again on the way home.
