Bangor Combined Probus Club Inc.

About

STOP PRESS: Unfortunately we are not taking on any new members at present.

We are an energetic Probus Club based in Bangor the southern Sydney suburb.

At present we are not taking enquiries for membership as we have reached our maximum membership ceiling of 130 members. Even our waiting list, which was open to only those who reside in the 2234 postcode, is also closed at present. People are welcome to visit us to discover the joys of Probus, but such visits are restricted to three occasions only due to insurance coverage.

As part of our on-going modernisation project, we are fine-tuning our website for the management of our club administration, events, meetings, news and records. This is an on-going process, so if there is something that doesn't make sense, or is missing from here, please get in touch with us using the contact us page.

Probus provides you with the opportunity to join together in Clubs and to progress healthy minds and active bodies through social interaction and activities with retirees in your community.

Probus opens the door to new experiences and friendships, you can hear wonderful guest speakers, stay active by participating in a wide range of activities and explore your community, your country or the world.

We have a very strong Social Committee with regular outings, trips and activities as well as special interest groups such as:

Walking, Gardening, Caravan & Cabin, Bike Riding, Book Club, Games Afternoons and more.·

We meet on the 4th Monday of the month at the Salvation Army Hall in Menai.  Each month we enjoy guest speakers on a whole range of interesting subjects.  Meetings start at 10.30am and conclude by 12.30pm.  Lots of members head off to Club Menai for lunch.  Many great friendships have started in this club and we are always keen to welcome new members.

Our usual use of communication is by email and through our website.  But should you not be comfortable with technology we always have hard copies of information available for those members.

Members come  from Bangor, Menai, Illawong, Barden Ridge, Sutherland, Engadine and some other areas outside of the main Bangor area. The Club offers opportunities for members to :

  • keep active and expand interests;
